Volunteering & Positions

Volunteering for the CVAA Falcon's keep's costs lower and provides the Football and Cheer players and teams with the necessary support, direction and assistance required to deliver an outstanding experience for them. Twelve (12) hours per child/Five (10) per Scout Cheer child are required for CVAA Falcons Cheer & Football for the 2012 season. Two Children or More Requires Twenty (20) Hours of Volunteering.

Team Parent Coordinator:
The Team Parent assists in organizing a variety of activities that provides the team with a local contact for specific and general information. In addition to this they are the point of contact supporting game day activities ensuring the event runs as smooth as possible.

Additional responsibilities include:
Assist coaches in contacting players for meetings, practice items, etc.
Assign families and assist to coordinate water, ice and coolers for the games.
Collects money for the end of the season coaches gifts
Sends out the necessary communications via email

Game Announcer:
This person will provide play-by-play calls during games.

Spotter:
This person assists the announcer by providing them the play-by-plays providing player names and reminders.

Clock/Score Board:
This involves starting and stopping the lock during our home games as well as operating the score board from the booth This activity requires careful watching of the field referees.

Mandatory Play:
This volunteer works on the side-line with a person from the opposing team. They use the 'players list' to place marks next to each player on the field for each play. They also keep coaches informed to ensure each players gets the minimum number of total plays required for each game.

Chain Gang:
These volunteers work on the side-lines moving markers up and down the field for plays during home games.

Gate Duty:
This volunteer will monitor the entrance and collect money for admission to home games. Two (2) people for each gate (back and forth). Only players, coaches and certain level sponsors are admitted for free. All parent volunteers pay to be admitted. Volunteers for this position must be over 18 years of age. Family members will not be placed together at this assignment.

Spirit Wear Sales:
This volunteer works home games to sell CVAA Falcons items in the spirit booth/tent.

Snack Bar Preparation:
Volunteers in this position will cut up food items and set up the snack bar in advance of the 9am home game start. No children are allowed in the Snack Bar/Shack.

Shack Bar/Shack:
Volunteers in this position will perform various kitchen tasks which include serving customers, preparing food, stocking shelves and clean-up for/during home games. No children are allowed in the Snack Bar/Shack.

BBQ:
This volunteer manages the grill/BBQ area to cook and serve a variety of meet foods for home games.

Homecoming (one-time event):
Volunteers in this capacity assist and set up decorations, prepare items and the area for the Homecoming game.

End of Year Banquet:
Volunteers in this role assist with the set-up/break-down for the end of year banquet.
